It's early November at Harugaizumi International School. Last week, the whole school put on a cultural festival, with the School Idol Club having a performance in the gym. You got a pretty decent turnout, but that's no reason to rest on your laurels; practice and school both continue this week! Have fun, check out the setting, and keep your ears open. You never know what opportunities will pop up for you!
[Arianna is in mid-stretch when Ayaka says "impawssible" and immediately breaks down giggling. She loses her balance, and falls over. She's still giggling.]
[Usagi is not a morning person by any stretch of the imagination, but she's actually up and about without someone calling her to wake her up this morning.]
I think it went really well, Ayaka-chan! We had a lot of people come to see us, and I think we sounded better than we did in the last rehearsal.
[A few hours before practice, a certain someone is already in the club building. Rita Mordio's personal laptop is connected to multiple light displays she's hooked up over the last several weeks, and she is intently glaring at the information on them. There's also a video of the performance.]
Come on, come on, the glitch has to be somewhere around here...
[Did one of the light displays screw up during the show? Certainly, Rita seems to think so. Everything probably looks fine to most observers, though.]
[ Ryoko arrives at practice at a very carefully calculated Just Barely On Time in an attempt to not come off as overly eager. The fact that she's already in her practice clothes with her hair scraped back into a pin-neat ponytail rather ruins the too-cool-for-this image she's going for, though. ]
The Cultural Festival went well enough, but we can't afford to get lazy now. I think we really need to double down on practice and tighten things up.
[ Not that she cares, though. Don't get it twisted. ]
That's our Ryoko-nyan! [Ayaka gives a thumbs up from -- did she bring a stack of her own newspapers into the club room, of course she did.] But it was fun, right? You can admit it!
Did you have suggestions? 'cause I was thinking that you know the bit [Carmel hums part of the song.] our dance moves are a little lackluster so we should maybe change it up. It felt different doing it on the stage, in front of all those people.
[She was in the middle of stretching her legs when Ryoko came in, but she's now leaning forward, propped up in her elbows in an obscene show of how flexible she is. Look, sometimes you've got (1) asset as a school idol and you're gonna keep milking it for all it's worth.]
I know I messed up that one part that went [she hums part of the song] but I don't think too many people noticed? I didn't fall when we did the jump bit, at least!
[After the club has been practising for a while, you'll hear clacking footsteps and then a knock on the club room door. Before anyone can react, it opens.
The person on the other side is a third-year with glasses and a high bun, holding a clipboard and a small stack of folders. Most, if not all, of you know her -- after all, small school aside, you had to get her permission to even start up the club again. It's the Student Council President, Igarashi Wakaba.]
Oh, you are in today. Good, I won't have to track you all down later. Am I interrupting something, School Idol Club?
[Carmel is scrolling through Bโกnd before practice officially starts, reading up on coverage of other idol groups. There's a sketchbook open on the table filled with notes mixed with potential costume designs. The writing is about half English and half Japanese, though, so have fun with that!
During practice, Carmel is her usual peppy self. Lots of English encouragement today! But more importantly:]
Hey, do you want to come with me to the recycle shop after this? I was thinking we might be able to find something cute for our next costumes.
[On Tuesday, the club room door knocks at practice and Wakaba steps in. She sets a letter down on the meeting table.]
Good afternoon, School Idol Club. This came to my office for you. It's a fax from the Southwest Mall down in town.
[If the girls look it over, the letter is an invitation for the "fall festival" the mall's running this weekend. Apparently, a school idol unit named Powerful Garage had to pull out at the last minute, and the event coordinator went looking for someone nearby and heard that Harugaizumi had a good performance last week.]
They're looking for a song on the stage and a meet-and-greet afterwards. You won't need to sell any merchandise or anything like that, so it should be simple enough. Look it over and call them to respond once you decide. But this was the kind of opportunity you were looking for, wasn't it? And you won't even have to be pulled out of school this time.
Just remember what I told you before. [She bows and turns to leave.] I'm off. I still need to have a word with the Manga Club.
[OOC: Welcome to your first Opportunity! This ties in with how both events and AC are going to work here. This post is the live preparation post for the week; reply to that with what your character's been doing all week, with special focus on preparation for the live, and feel free to edit as things come up!]
[A couple of first-years are on lunch duty today, and the result is fried squid that looks more like burnt squid and soup that tastes like ginger with a hint of soap. Naturally, as soon as the lunch bell rings, you can find Ayaka at Ao-Mart browsing the instant and prepackaged lunch selections.]
Hm... the grilled salmon is pretty cheap, but maybe I should get the omurice. What do you think?
[And after school and practice, it's location scouting time at Southwest Mall! Ayaka will be there taking photos of the cordoned-off stage... until security comes up to her.]
Nyahaha, sorry! I'm just location scouting, you see, we're school idols and we wanted to get a sense of the performing area...
[The day before the performance, school seems to be business as usual. Even so, you might find the Student Council President in the courtyard at lunch, picking at an Ao-Mart bento and reading something on her phone. If she sees you, she'll look up.]
Oh, you're from the School Idol Club. Is there anything you need to ask? I know you've got that live this weekend, so I do hope you're ready.

So how do you think we did at the Cultural Festival? A great turnout, right? My article's already written for this month's paper!
[And when they move outside for exercise, she's there stretching with everyone, looking up at the sky.]
At least it looks warm today! It'll be impawssible when it gets cold.

Good meowning! Hey, are you still thinking about what the president was talking about? I don't know what she's thinking sometimes.
[You can also find her at lunch, trying to hand out newspapers at the cafeteria door.]
Read all about it! Last week's cultural festival a resounding success! At least if you aren't the Manga Club, I guess...
[And at practice, she's tapping on the piano experimentally, audio recorder turned on beside it.]
We could use a new song, right? I mean, Carmel-senpai was talking about getting us out to perform some more.
