It's early November at Harugaizumi International School. Last week, the whole school put on a cultural festival, with the School Idol Club having a performance in the gym. You got a pretty decent turnout, but that's no reason to rest on your laurels; practice and school both continue this week! Have fun, check out the setting, and keep your ears open. You never know what opportunities will pop up for you!

[A few hours before practice, a certain someone is already in the club building. Rita Mordio's personal laptop is connected to multiple light displays she's hooked up over the last several weeks, and she is intently glaring at the information on them. There's also a video of the performance.]

Come on, come on, the glitch has to be somewhere around here...

[Did one of the light displays screw up during the show? Certainly, Rita seems to think so. Everything probably looks fine to most observers, though.]

[anchornyan]

[Ayaka yawns, shuffling in from the library printer The Newspaper Clubroom That Totally Exists with a pile of papers, and stops to blink.]

What are you doing in this early, Rita-nyan?

Oh. Just noticed one of our light display props didn't run right during the Cultural Festival live.

[... Did she notice WHILE SHE WAS PERFORMING?]

If I'm going to be rigging up light columns and shaped LED displays, I want them working like they're supposed to, so...

Fur real? [Ayaka leaves the stack of papers on the meeting table and walks over to look them over.] It looks fine to me. What happened?

[Rita pauses the video, and moves to a specific timestamp. She points to... One color being a tiny bit off.]

Here.

[She pulls the video forward and points to another.]

Here.

[And a third.]

And here.

Three mistakes is definitely too many if we want the most attention to us and the school.

[She squints, stares with her face right up at the screen, and eventually pulls back.]

Huh, you're right. I never even noticed, and I've been looking at these for hours putting together our feature! You're pretty good at this.

Being good at this sorta thing is basically all I've got, so.

[Rita sighs. In all reality, the errors are minute, and she's beating up on herself for nothing. But getting her to admit that could be tricky...]

I think you're fine, Rita-nyan. You didn't make any mistakes at all! Even our B♡nd coverage didn't mention anything -- oh, did you see it yet?

... Oh, right. I haven't yet, nope.

[She's been too busy obsessing over this.]

[anchornyan]

[Ayaka digs out her phone and shows Rita basically what Carmel looks up the following day.]

See? The lighting was their favourite part! And between you and me, I'm pretty sure the one they're vagueblogging is Ryoko-nyan, no offence to her.

Huh. Nice to see people liked that part of the work. But it kinda just means I gotta keep going better, you know?

You're pretty ambitious about this! Of course, it's hard to blame you. It's what you're known for, after all, right?

It had better be! I am a genius with this sorta thing, you know.

[... She's also well-known as a weirdo and quite a few people are surprised she was talked into joining the School Idol Club. There's probably rumors about her family situation - not that it'd be hard to check and know what actually occurred, but...]

Kind of knew you'd say that. Don't worry so much! We can just keep working and trying to have fun, right?

I know what I'm good at for this group, and I've gotta keep going on it. It's just how it goes.

[... Rita seems kinda serious about this, wow...]

Yeah, I guess so. But isn't this supposed to be fun, too?

To me, being useful's kinda part of the fun.

I don't have a lot else going on, see...

You don't think you're good at the singing and dancing stuff? You've been working like everyone else, though.

I guess if our B♡nd coverage says so, I'm doing well there?

It's more like I don't have a lot of a life beyond this club. Thus why I kinda dove in as hard as I did...

That goes for a few of us, huh... But that's the point of club activities, right? It's a place to be passionate about what you do with your friends! The beating heart of our society!

... Can I really call everyone here friends?

[That... Definitely sounds like some major self-doubt issues.]

I mean, I hope so. It flows nyaturally, doesn't it?

... Haven't had a lot of friends in the past, so, I honestly don't know.

[Programming for the light rigs. It seems pretty complicated, but nothing Arianna couldn't eventually figure out. If she knew the right programming language.]
