It's early November at Harugaizumi International School. Last week, the whole school put on a cultural festival, with the School Idol Club having a performance in the gym. You got a pretty decent turnout, but that's no reason to rest on your laurels; practice and school both continue this week! Have fun, check out the setting, and keep your ears open. You never know what opportunities will pop up for you!
[A few hours before practice, a certain someone is already in the club building. Rita Mordio's personal laptop is connected to multiple light displays she's hooked up over the last several weeks, and she is intently glaring at the information on them. There's also a video of the performance.]
Come on, come on, the glitch has to be somewhere around here...
[Did one of the light displays screw up during the show? Certainly, Rita seems to think so. Everything probably looks fine to most observers, though.]
[Arianna is in mid-stretch when Ayaka says "impawssible" and immediately breaks down giggling. She loses her balance, and falls over. She's still giggling.]
[ Ryoko arrives at practice at a very carefully calculated Just Barely On Time in an attempt to not come off as overly eager. The fact that she's already in her practice clothes with her hair scraped back into a pin-neat ponytail rather ruins the too-cool-for-this image she's going for, though. ]
The Cultural Festival went well enough, but we can't afford to get lazy now. I think we really need to double down on practice and tighten things up.
[ Not that she cares, though. Don't get it twisted. ]
[She gets up and offers a hand.] You need some help? I mean, I want us to make the front page of B♡nd, but not with someone injuring herself laughing.
That's our Ryoko-nyan! [Ayaka gives a thumbs up from -- did she bring a stack of her own newspapers into the club room, of course she did.] But it was fun, right? You can admit it!
[After the club has been practising for a while, you'll hear clacking footsteps and then a knock on the club room door. Before anyone can react, it opens.
The person on the other side is a third-year with glasses and a high bun, holding a clipboard and a small stack of folders. Most, if not all, of you know her -- after all, small school aside, you had to get her permission to even start up the club again. It's the Student Council President, Igarashi Wakaba.]
Oh, you are in today. Good, I won't have to track you all down later. Am I interrupting something, School Idol Club?
[Wakaba raises her eyebrows, but walks in and opens one of the folders.]
I only wanted to congratulate you on your work at the Cultural Festival. We’ve finished tallying the numbers, and your concert attracted the largest crowd at one time compared to the work of any other class or club this year.
[Rita, for her part, spends a fair bit of time looking over the stats in detail - she was probably one of the only people who went to the Tsundere Cafe, which reminds her that she's one of the weirdoes.
Whatever.]
I've got one point of concern. Going over a bunch of debug data from the stage lights, I've found... Three issues with the electrical hookups on and above the stage. Given that the hookups I used were essentially 'what was convenient', we probably should have some professional electricians check the whole thing out and do some wire fixes.
[Someone should probably cut Rita off before she gets into the specifics and drops into what may as well be technobabble.]
