It's early November at Harugaizumi International School. Last week, the whole school put on a cultural festival, with the School Idol Club having a performance in the gym. You got a pretty decent turnout, but that's no reason to rest on your laurels; practice and school both continue this week! Have fun, check out the setting, and keep your ears open. You never know what opportunities will pop up for you!
[On Tuesday, the club room door knocks at practice and Wakaba steps in. She sets a letter down on the meeting table.]
Good afternoon, School Idol Club. This came to my office for you. It's a fax from the Southwest Mall down in town.
[If the girls look it over, the letter is an invitation for the "fall festival" the mall's running this weekend. Apparently, a school idol unit named Powerful Garage had to pull out at the last minute, and the event coordinator went looking for someone nearby and heard that Harugaizumi had a good performance last week.]
They're looking for a song on the stage and a meet-and-greet afterwards. You won't need to sell any merchandise or anything like that, so it should be simple enough. Look it over and call them to respond once you decide. But this was the kind of opportunity you were looking for, wasn't it? And you won't even have to be pulled out of school this time.
Just remember what I told you before. [She bows and turns to leave.] I'm off. I still need to have a word with the Manga Club.
[OOC: Welcome to your first Opportunity! This ties in with how both events and AC are going to work here. This post is the live preparation post for the week; reply to that with what your character's been doing all week, with special focus on preparation for the live, and feel free to edit as things come up!]
Isn't this clawsome? [Ayaka lights up and begins writing things down.] I'll have to start advertising! Hey, do you think handing out cards in town would be good?
This sounds like it could be really fun! And, aha, don't worry about the math test my class has tomorrow. After what you said last weekend, I got a friend to help me go over things, so I'm sure it will be fine.
[...look, math is not her best subject, but she is legitimately trying to do better. Please perceive her.]
I hope none of us get in trouble for bad grades. Wonder if that's why Powerful Garage had to pull out? You do hear things about school idols having to pull out if their grades are too bad...
[Rita Mordio is thinking almost as soon as she's looked at it, and becomes a little distracted even as Wakaba shares key details.]
Okay, that means... The lighting rigs for the school stage are too big to move around easily, so a portable set will be needed. The stage will likely be... Somewhere? Anyone know if it'll be indoor or outdoor?
[And then she's pulling out some notepaper.]
No, this needs to be reusable, so gotta build it to function either way. Programming the lights for the song... Right, the song. Also the dance. Can't forget those. Means the light rig has to be multisettable.
[It almost sounds like Rita WOULD forget about the most obvious part of being a School Idol given the chance. Certainly, she has her fixation going...]
I mean, we should decide rather quickly. If it's an existing one, I can just adapt the code to the new equipment once I have it done by... Like, Thursday. If it's a new one, though, then I'll have to make a fresh code which could take a bit.
I think we should focus on polishing one of our existing songs. If we rush and try and force something out, it's going to come out unpolished and it won't have any of the wow factor we want for a big show like this.
We may need to adapt the choreography as well, depending on the design of the stage, but it'll still be easier than having something entirely new in four days.
We're gonna need something lively if it's a festival, right? And since Rita-nyan's working hard on the lights and Usagi-nyan's studying hard to get her grades up, one of the others should be the centre...
[She stops short of saying "maybe Ryoko is too sour-faced," but she sure is looking at Ryoko. ...then again, maybe that's going to give entirely the opposite impression, who knows.]

That sounds right to me, too. It'll also give me more room to get the mechanics of the portable lighting rigs right.
